June 12 Ride

Riders,

When I think of the SVR… the first thing I check is what Mother Nature will throw our way in terms of weather… so far, the folks who predict her actions state we’ll have afternoon water falling from the skies... that means the morning should allow for us riding junkies to get our fix…. Of miles that is…

The group meets at the parking lot of New Springs for a start time of around 0800… come locked and loaded for a ride of ~44 miles, give or take…

Props to the Safe Harbor ride last Saturday… if you missed it… you missed what might be the fastest metric around… and maybe the best grilled burger and fixin’s post ride… and the most well-stocked SAG stations of any ride… pre-made, pre-cut PBJs, newtons, cookie packets, cool liquid refreshments, re-packed trail mix and the friendliest volunteers around… WHO THANKED US FOR RIDING…as we thanked them for the SAG stuff!!! Kindness… that’s what makes the world go-round….

Props to those who raced last weekend… TT-Bob who won his age division at the state time trials…. Mr. NameSake for placing 3rd overall at the Middle Tyger Tri.. Kudos to Mr. & Mrs. Brooks for turning in great times at Middle Tyger… even if Mr. Brooks was racing incognito under his first name!!!! as I recall, way back in 2008… that course is so hilly, even the swim was uphill!!!

Best wishes for those who’ll race Festival of Flowers on Sunday… Mr. Stephan, Mr. Reggie, Mr. Tim, Mr. Gary, Mr. Brian, and REDBOOK!!!! Make us proud… and send a race report to share…

Note: Mega Mike has elected to train on a cruise to ensure he’ll make weight (Master Clydesdale) of more than 200 lbs for the rest of the season… now, THAT is training!!!!

And real training is the US Army Basic Infantry Training at Fort Benning, Ga.... that's where this squad in the pic demonstrated their 10 weeks of learning how to defend our great country... our guys and gals in the Armed Forces are heroes... and their equipment will knock some socks off!!!

See ya on the road…
