9-12-09 Ride

Riders,

For this weekend, I’m going to do some research to determine if there’s any truth to the old saying “third time is the charm.” Because, for “our” agenda this is the third century training ride!!! You know, mileage to the third power!!! Or miles cubed… (that’s my ill fated math example)… We’re hoping for good weather…. Some riders will log some “junk miles” early… riding the parking lot of New Springs until the break of daylight (around 7am)… then, they’ll head for the open road…. some early riders will return for the mass start at 0800… others will just keep riding to “get’r dun”….

Props to those riders who participated in the Tour De La France last weekend… we had a lot of fun blasting down Clemson Blvd… the lead group of 3… Rocketman Russ, The Griz and The Promoter drafted the police cruiser the whole way… clocking speeds of more than 27 mph!!!! For us mere mortals in the second group… (with at least one rider who had concrete shoes on)… it was a bit daring as we were motioned through the traffic lights by the police department!!!! Overall, it was a great ride for a great cause!!!!

So, join us for another ride this Saturday, 9-12-09 at the New Spring Parking lot for a wheels turn time of 8ish…. I’ve conceded to ride creep… I guess it’s too common in everyday life.. .as we have meeting creep… lunch creep… bedtime creep…. We just can’t keep a schedule!!!
