Sept 19 Ride
It’s time to schedule your therapy… your RIDE therapy!!! This Saturday, riders from around the area will gather in the parking lot of New Spring Church to get that dose of therapy… there’s nothing like the sweet sound of freewheeling, clicking of gears and cranks turning… it’s like a symphony to a rider’s ear!!!! The main group departs at 8’ish to conquer the standard loop of about 44 +/- miles… there’s always a smaller group logging miles around the parking lot as they wait on Mr. Sun to rise so they can get started…. I do have a work related obligation that will prevent my departure before 0800.... so, for me, any additional miles will be added at the END of the ride....
WE interrupt this ride announcement for a SHARK warning... there has been an increase in shark activity off the coast of Panama City, FL... hopefully, the waters will be clear for swimming in early November... I would have declared a gator-warning, but my limited digital pic library did NOT have a gator pic... LOL..
Just a word about last week…. It’s true, the third time is the charm… last weekends century was sweeter than the first… we did manage to throw in a bit of the unknown as we ventured down Hwy 187 near P-ton HS… which was not the smartest decision as we found out that P-ton HS was hosting some event??? And last week, we welcomed a new rider to the group.. Charlie can hammer the hills AND log long miles!!! Who will join us this weekend??
Clemson Football kick off is high noon…. However, the SVR loop cris-crosses the vehicular traffic patterns… we didn’t have a problem last year and don’t expect one this year….
So, what are you waiting for??? Lube the bike, pack the snacks and come ride…
Average ride speed is according to those who show up….
NOTICE: The SVR (Saturday Velo Ride) will yield to the Ride for Raptors on Oct 3… please see link below for more information...
AND don’t forget the 5 K foot race in Belton on Oct 3…. Pass along this notice to your two-wheel challenge friends…. You know, the ones who run for fun!!!!
