Last Ride for May

Riders,
let's ride... the email has been sent... We meet at the parking lot of New Spring for a wheels roll time of or about 0800.... I post on or about for the time because ride creep is alive and well on the local scene....

If you're new to the group, gives us a shoot... we'll be the group of roadie-tri-TT guys and gals huddled around swapping tells of training, racing, recovering and other "truths"... heck, even KT Redbook may shed some light on his recent discovery of "finding himself" somewhere between New Orleans and White Lake, NC... funniest story ever told...

I'm not sure if our local champion TT-Bob will be in attendance... after his TT victory last weekend, he may opt for staying close to home and spending quality time with the wife...

of note, to ensure a safe ride... let's stay single file when needed... pay attention, call turns... and signal stops etc.... you never know "where" the guy on your wheel is... or his mind??? could be a million miles away as he pumps the pedals and stares at your rear... cassette...

be safe out there...

Saturday and Sunday Rides and Bike Needs

Riders,

FIRST, let's send out a hearty fare-well to Beastie Bob... he's relocated to the North.... Carolina that is... we'll miss one of the most consistent SVRs we've had.... good luck to Bob in his new work, cycling and living adventures!!!! and I really hope many riders read this... and give him the cycling salute!!! which is your left hand, dropped low and extended slightly forward... come this Saturday and we'll demonstrate!!!

It’s entirely possible that Mother Nature will take issue with our wanting a “dry” ride for Saturday. The Weather “Guessers” say rain is possible… but, maybe we’ll have a window of opportunity to “carpe diem” this Saturday for a ride. So, make plans now to join your two wheel brethren for about 45 miles of riding…. If you need a shorter distance, you’re welcome to turn around at the famous landmark, Mac’s!!!!

The group “thinks” about leaving promptly at 0800 from the parking lot of New Springs in Anderson… Be ready to ride and we don’t wait on the fast guys (or gals)…

Last Saturday, several of the regulars missed the SVR (Saturday Very-Fun Ride, or Saturday Vance Ride, or Saturday Velo Ride) and elected to do SBR… (swim-bike-run) at the Clemson Triathlon. It was more fun than is illegally allowed!!!! Just don’t tell anyone cuz “they” just wouldn’t understand!!! Most of “them” think “tri” just to get a T-shirt!!! Maybe someone does???

Just for the record.... there was someone with a T1 time of almost 3 minutes... from what I understand, the athlete visited with friends.... took some nutrition.... pumped up the tires.... took a nap... and completely changed from the wetsuit to cycling stuff... mostly because he was concerned ONLY of his bike split... or maybe he just fought that wetsuit and finally whipped it?? me thinkest thou shall work on T1...

Props to those racers who competed… job well done… and special congrats to those who had a place on the podium… including Mr. Greenwood… Mr. Moser… Mr. Olympics…. Mr. Johnson, And No-kidding… master-Clydesdale Mega-Mike!!! There may have been others… but the memory is the first go!!!

Super Special Props to LG... Lauren, one of the fastest SVRs (among men, women, boys & girls) just SMOKED the field at Florida 70.3... and as I've heard, she's said good-bye to amateur status as she received her pro card!!!! AWESOME... maybe she'll ride this Saturday and give us a first hand ride report....which also includes a crash!!!!

So, are you in or out for SVR??? The choice is yours…

Sunday Ride Details

The inaugural Sunday Family Ride (SFR) had a great turnout. 13 intrepid singles, couples and families set out. Unfortunately, at the top of Walker, the ride turned into the Sunday Rinse and Spin when a fast moving thunderstorm doused us and blew us around. It wouldn't be a good ride unless there was adventure and a good story. We all arrived back at New Spring safely and can't wait to do it again (minus the rinse). So if you are part of a family, and want do an easy fun ride on Sunday afternoon, Join us in the New Spring Parking Lot at 2:00 pm. For those Anderson Sprint triathletes, a perfect easy recovery spin. Hope to see you there!

May 8 Ride

Riders,
they say, you get what you pay for! A few weeks ago, I bought a diet Coke... and it was NOT a full 12 oz??? what's up with that??? what I don't know is.. was it because it on the island??? cuz I haven't checked the local inventory..... the total oz on the can was 11.27.. hmmm

But, we'll get what we want this Saturday... the ride remains the same... 44 miles +/-... starting at 0800 from the parking lot of New Spring... in Anderson.. come ready to roll... and remember.. we don't wait on the fast guys...

of note, please be aware the "ride" to Timms Mill is uneventful.... then, on 5 Fork... each every rider for himself/herself... ending with the sprint zone near Macs...

come one, come all....
