Saturday 11-21-09

Riders,
Well, last Saturday, it just didn't happen for me... there was no ride... no spin, no turning the cranks, no burning calories, no pacelining, and no drafting..(if you want an editorial on drafting, race marshals and penalty tents, you'll have to ask DiveBomb Dillard...). For a brief moment, I felt good about not riding... until the 4 Musketeers rode up on bikes while I was doing some yard work... it was Mr & Mrs and two good friends... and then, all the sudden there was a 5th rider... they were kitted and ready to ride out to Macs at 2pm... and I was dressed for yard work... I was burning with "ride envy"...

so, I'll declare my intentions... for this Saturday, I am riding to Macs and back.. nothing more, nothing less... and I'm riding at "Madden Pace".. which is defined as whatever I'm riding at the moment in time...

This will be the first ride since November 7... a day that will live in infamy... (that's a historical line for sure, eh?)... this pic is what "we" started with on THAT day... we're missing Mr. Vance in the pic... it was a day I'll never forget!!!

the group meets at the parking lot of New Spring church for a "wheels up" time of 0800... the entire loop is 42 miles, +/-....

11-15-09 Ride Info

Riders,

Here’s the question of the week.. who rode last Saturday?? I know of at least 7 riders who completed more than a century… and 6 of them added the swim & run to complete the trifecta.. of course, they were out of town… but, they do have pics to prove it!!!

So, who’s up for riding this Saturday? For me, it’s too early to tell if I can throw a leg over my trusty steed… we’ll just have to figure that out on Saturday… but, IF I do ride (and that’s a BIG IF)… it will only be a spin to Mac’s and back (if I can make it that far!!!)

So, join the “regulars” at the parking lot of New Spring for a wheels roll time of 0800… for the usual and customary dose of miles on the best roads we can find… the route is about 44 miles, give or take… historically, some of those miles are fast… and some are slow…

Give a shout out if you’re new to the group…
Now a few words about this pic... last time I posted this guy's pic, he was on the ground on S'burg Road stretching... this pic is at the end of a 112 mile bike (which followed a 2.4 mile ocean swim) and he was on his way to becoming an IRONMAN!!! so, when you see him, greet him with an IRONMAN salute!!! we do not yet know of his return date to SVR.. maybe 2010???
